When I just started to be interested in shibari, I interpreted this practice as a symbol of restriction and saw it as a situation where a person is losing his/her/their freedom. But now, after ten years of practice, I understand it in most cases as the opposite. When I see a nicely tied person, I think that he/she/they is/are achieving freedom. What does freedom finally mean? Probably to have a choice. When I want to have some intimate moments with my partner, we have a lot of possibilities. The series of handmade embroideries „Our games“ shows our intimate practices, which are based on love, trust and consent. All embroideries were inspired by real photos or video screenshots from our personal archive.
